It seems like so long ago we met up with this lovely pair to shoot their engagement images. last July to be precise!.. then a whole year flew by and we then had the pleasure of joining them on their big day.
After what seemed like forever of blistering heat we woke up to quite a dreary wettish morning. Just typical we thought! All this nice weather and it rains on Ellie & Stuarts big day! Well... it turned out just fine and it held off until we needed it too!
Emma began her morning making her way to the guys, and I headed to Ellie's location just down the road from our home so not long travelling to this wedding!
Ellie is fortunate to have a hairdresser for a mom so she was at work with Ellie's hair when I arrived and the bridesmaids were all in the swing of morning getting readiness along with selfies and giggles. It was a lovely atmosphere.. just the right amount of nerves and laughs! We got to work documenting the morning happenings we also love getting all the fine details such as the brides jewellery, perfume, dresses.. and same with the guys.. although they are always just eager to get the suit on as fast as lightening and head to the pub! Cant blame them really! hehe!
The morning flew by and it was time to head to the church! The boys made their way from The Three Horseshoes pub a stone throw from St James church and Ellie in her stunning sleeved dress by wed2b and ultra long veil set off from home literally a 1 min walk too. We don't think we've had a bride live so close to her wedding venue! We got some lovely shots of her short stroll to the church where a lot of villagers had gathered to watch and wave. Everyone loves a wedding and it was lovely to see the locals all joining in with Ellie and Stuarts day.
St James Church is so beautiful and after a lovely emotional ceremony the new Mr & Mrs Johnson came outside to greet all their guests and walk through a confetti tunnel. The wind had picked up so confetti was flying everywhere. It made for some great photos! Everyone set of for the reception venue at The glade
The weather seemed to be taking a turn for the worst, a little drizzle as we raced against the clock to get all the couples chosen group pics. Then we headed off into the trees that offered a little bit of protection from the rain to get some lovely shots of just the newlyweds. Stuart and Ellie are so natural together and we captured some beautiful moments between the two of them just before the heavens opened!
The venue was decorated wonderfully with a flowing scrabble theme and beautiful flower arrangements in pale pink and eucalyptus. Paper lanterns hung from the ceiling and there was love in the air. Some heartfelt and funny speeches were delivered after a summer themed bbq, Emma and I both agreed that they were truly some of the most tear jerking and hilarious speeches we've ever heard at a wedding! We got so many crazy shots!
Weddings go by so fast and before we knew it evening guests were arriving and we were getting prepared for first dance. They made their way to the dance floor and we were treated to a few dress twirls which we always love! They turned out very film noir and some of our favourite shots from the day!
We can't thank Ellie & Stuart enough for letting us be a part of their day and as a thank you we surprised them with a 15 minute slideshow set to music of all the best bits of their day. Its a fab way to relive your wedding day condensed into one 15min sitting! Here it is!.......enjoy!
